豆鰒商店 Tofugu Store Tenugui

13.99

Tenugui used to be popular swag for businesses back in the Edo period. Inspired by this idea, we made a tenugui with a somewhat nostalgic, retro feeling for our Edo era Tofugu Store!

This particular tenugui is 39.37 inches (100cm) x 13.78inches (35cm). This large tenugui is perfect for wall decorations, wrapping gifts, as a gift (wrap it with another tenugui, you hipster), a towel, a cover for your nasty motel pillow, or even for your head (it's the correct sized tenugui for kendo).

The kanji on it are pretty cool, too. Here's what the Japanese means:

豆 = tō (that’s what tofu’s “tō” looks like in kanji. It means "beans," the thing tofu is made of!)
鰒 = fugu (blowfish!)
商店 = store

In case you still haven't been persuaded to click the "ADD TO CART" button,  breathe easy because all the kanji and Japanese characters written on this tenugui are artisinally checked and approved by our Japanese native speaker staff. You can use it in Japan knowing you won't be shamed for carrying around a towel with made-up kanji.

Warning: hanging this outside any door will cause hundreds of customers to stand in line until you shoo them away. Use with extreme caution.
